Blog Publicity Tour: Covenant (The Samsara Chronicles Book 3)

Book Excerpt:

The skull was approximately the size of a baby’s head and shone with mystical brilliance. She reached into the glass case and placed both her hands on either side of the skull. An overwhelming power surged through her body. For a very brief moment, the spheres appeared and hovered around the glass case as if to convey a message.
Aislinn watched one of the spheres hover over the case while another hummed around her head. She nodded—the message in her mind suddenly clear. She looked at the dealer. “I want to buy it.”
He ran a hand through his hair, the gesture betraying his uncertainty. He glanced at the skull almost as though seeking approval. “Young lady, I have other customers waiting. As you know, the price is—”
“I know the price. You want five thousand dollars for it. I want it.” She had no idea why she wanted the skull so badly and thought of her savings that would be eaten up by such a foolish extravagance. To indulge in such a purchase was totally out of character, yet she could not fight the feelings that compelled her.
“I’ll agree only if you can pay cash or by approved debit card,” he told her hesitantly. “And that’s providing I’m able to reach the verification center. The service only operates a few hours a week.”
She nodded—her determination to buy the skull overriding any other consideration. “I can pay with my debit card for both items,” she said, removing the card from her wallet and handing it to him. The dealer paused before lifting the phone to call for approval. She had the distinct impression that he didn’t really want to sell the skull.
The dealer inspected her signature on the card. “You know, I almost hate to let it go. It’s been my companion for many years.”
“How did you come by it?” she asked.
“An old woman left it to me. She was a very dear friend.”
“Then why do you have it on display?”
“I’m getting on in age and have no family. I would hate to see it fall into the wrong hands and hoped the skull would point me to the rightful future owner.”
“How could it tell you that?”
“It can. Would you please place your hands around the skull again?”
She complied and gasped when she noticed her hands glow and become almost transparent. It was almost as if a torch illuminated the flesh from beneath.
The dealer stepped back as light enveloped her and gasped. “It seems I’ve found the rightful owner. You may have the skull. I will not sell it.”

Pursued by increasingly violent Eletarii minions, Aislinn and Dylan acquire the first and most important talisman necessary to open the celestial gate.

Targeted by Eletarii minions, Aislinn and Dylan are guided to acquire the crystal skull, the core of Aislinn’s past and future power. After a terrifying encounter with the dark forces while spending Christmas at her parents, Aislinn and Dylan accept the perilous journey ahead of them.

My Review!!!!!!!

Christmas time and the wonderful joy of the holidays. Cheer, happiness, family and just the feeling of temporary peace. It is amazing that even in the grim conditions on which we find in book 3 that the holiday season still can produce these feelings for people that need them the most.

Until that skull comes into the picture. Never bring home a glowing skull. Lesson learned.

After minions, a weird glow, crazy earth quakes and more you would think the truth would come out more. But it doesn't. Of course I don't want to be the girl claiming a skull caused all this...

The story is becoming more and more interesting and demands to be read. However I still don't like having to switch from book to book every 60 pages. But a tale like this seems to be starting to be worth the trouble.

MY REVIEW!!!!

A short and easy read about how Vampires survival depends on Humans and Humans survival depends on Vampires. But what happens when a treaty is broken by a rebel Vampire that refuses to obey the rules? One who is suppose to protect Humans but ultimately has a hatred that makes him destroy one? The treaty is broken but what can salvage the wreckage? And how can a compromise be made that will bring the needed food for the Human survivors back so they can survive.

In a dark and dangerous world of the future it isn't flying cars and robots that we often see it is dark deep seas and waste land.

A very enjoyable read that combines vampires, humans, disaster, hope and damage control all in one.

Publicity Post for Spider Brains

After her father’s death last year and, now, in the throes of a gnarly teacher’s whim as she thinks ahead to college, a small black arachnid bites fifteen-year-old Susie Speider on the finger and sends her nights into fantastical dreams about taking revenge on a teacher–a one Ms. Morlson–who, ultimately, holds Susie’s college aspirations in the sweaty palm of her cold calloused hand. But, after Susie figures out the dreams are real, she ups the ante and visits the teacher regularly but… as the spider. And, oh, by the way! Who is that boy spider munching on flies, hiding over there in the corner?

Most recently, Susan’s novels, SPIDER BRAINS and DROWNING each reached Amazon Bestseller status in 2012. DROWNING won the 2011 Forward National Literature Award for Drama. MY REVIEW!!!!!

I would say the book is quirky. Written as if the teenager is sitting telling you the story in first person you follow her through her constantly changing thoughts, troubles and exaggerated imagination. If being a teenager wasn't bad enough how would you like some of your more wild imagination thoughts to come true? Susie Speider turns into a spider after being bitten by one and a long thought process of turning into spider man herself.

I had a bit of a hard time getting into the story at first as it is not something I am use to reading nor did it really seem to connect with me. However, after pushing into the story more I really found myself lost in Susie's adventures of dealing with growing up and having super spidery morphing powers.

A cute funny and fairly easy read for older children and above. I'm not sure morphing into a spider is really the bed time story you need to be telling your 3 year old.

Some random facts about the Author You didn't know.

10 RANDOM FACTS

I love the element of surprise and I’m one of those people who can’t be put into a neat little box. Here are ten random facts about me that you won’t find anywhere else:

(1)   I was once told that my personality is like an onion. You can peel the layers back and find more and more layers beneath. I find that is very helpful when constructing a variety of characters, as I can empathize with a multitude of personalities.

(2)   I can’t handle abuse against children or animals. I abhor abuse against anyone but when it’s against those who are weaker or who cannot defend themselves, I become a vicious crusader for justice.

(3)   I have 11 baby angelfish at present (which came in handy while writing Vicki’s Key, in which Vicki’s CIA “front” is an angelfish breeder) and I find myself drawn to the tiniest, most delicate one, who I named Alfred. His body is about the size of a dime and when the others pushed him to the side for food, I trained him to go to a separate part of the tank where I can feed him individually.

(4)   My office has a 360 degree view. I am in a neighborhood at present but I dream of having this type of view at a secluded lake. I prefer lakes over oceans because of hurricanes and heat. Lakes tend to be shadier.

(5)   I am in love with Ireland. Both my parents are of Irish heritage; my mother’s family from the south of Ireland and my father’s, Scot-Irish from the Belfast region. I relate to the Irish more than any other group.

(6)   I always wanted to be a writer but fell into the computer industry when personal computers were in their infancy. My specialty became white collar computer crime and computer intelligence and my clients were primarily federal and local law enforcement. It’s a background that has served me well with my writing.

(7)   I am a voracious reader. I am interested in all things non-fiction and I find history particularly interesting. For pleasure, my favorite author is Erin Quinn, who writes paranormal romantic suspense. I love books that take me to different worlds and times.

(8)   I won a state-wide writing contest when I was in the 8th grade. When they found out I was a girl, they took it away and gave it to the runner-up, a boy. It’s the reason I bristle anytime someone calls me “Pat” … I want everyone to know I am a woman and proud of it.

(9)   I need a lot of alone time to recharge my batteries and remain centered. But the worst thing you can possibly do to me is sit me in front of a television all day. It drives me crazy. I want to be busy.

(10) I started the New Leash on Life program at a local prison. I brought in 3 dogs at a time that were destined for euthanasia; taught the prisoners how to train the dogs using only praise and no punishment; and the dogs were then adopted to loving families who were waiting for them. The program is still in place but now has a certified trainer overseeing it.

MY REVIEW!!!!!!

A strong mystery needs a strong detective and P.M. Terrell doesn't disappoint in giving that to us. As the pages turn and you find yourself lost more and more into the mystery, the romance and adventure of finding out the truth you won't remember your reading a book. You will picture infront of you the events as your mind sees the words. The picture will play and you will feel the emotions and connection with each character as you continue and search for more clues. This book will cause you to lose sleep, neglect work, and forget to feed the dog. You won't want to stop until you finish and then you will be begging for book two.

I highly recommend this book to you and suggest you give your shelves the privilege to have it set upon them.
