A-Z Challenge Letter M

M is for Mario Brothers (Super Mario Brothers)

Super Mario Bros. is a 1985 platform video game developed by Nintendo, published for the Nintendo Entertainment System as a sequel to the 1983 game Mario Bros. In Super Mario Bros., the player controls Mario (and in a two-player game, a second player controls Mario's brother Luigi) as he travels through the Mushroom Kingdom in order to rescue Princess Toadstool from the antagonist Bowser.

For over 20 years, Super Mario Bros. was the best-selling video game of all time (before being outsold by Nintendo's own Wii Sports in 2009), and has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. As a launch title, it was largely responsible for the initial success of the Nintendo Entertainment System, as well as ending the two-year slump of console game sales in the United States after the video game crash of 1983. As one of Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka's most influential early successes, it has inspired many clones, sequels, and spin-offs. The game's theme music by Koji Kondo is recognized worldwide, even by those who have not played the game, and has been considered a representation for video game music in general.

The success of Super Mario Bros. has caused it to be ported to almost every one of Nintendo's major gaming consoles. In late 2010, as part of the 25th anniversary of the game's release, Nintendo released special red variants of the Wii and Nintendo DSi XL consoles in differently re-packaged, Mario-themed, and limited edition bundles in all regions.

You just can not have a Gamer Month without talking about the Mario Brothers. Nintendo made history when Super Mario brothers released but they didn't know it. Now some almost 30 years later they are still as popular as ever if not even more so. I love the Mario Brothers games. I have played many of them from Nintendo Original All the way up to the Wii. Something about these little plumbers is super addictive. And Mario guest stars in a lot of Nintendo games. I have to give Super Mario Brothers their trophy and star of awesomeness.

What systems have you played the mario brothers on? What games have you played? Which was your favorite to play?

A-Z Challenge Letter L

L is for Little Big Planet

LittleBigPlanet, commonly abbreviated LBP, is a puzzle platformer video game, based on user-generated content, for the PlayStation 3 first announced on 7 March 2007, by Phil Harrison at the 2007 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, California. It was developed under the title The Next Big Thing by Media Molecule and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Many saw the game as an important title for Sony's PlayStation 3.

The game received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from critics and has been praised for its presentation, including its graphics, physics, and audio, along with its gameplay and large array of customisable costumes and online features. Additional praise was given to its scope and future potential based on user-created content; minor criticism was reserved for specific elements of the gameplay mechanics and level creation facilities. LittleBigPlanet has won a considerable number of awards. A PSP version of the game was released in November 2009, featuring new levels and content. The game was offered by Sony as a free download as part of their 'Welcome Back' program, following the PSN outage of 2011.

This is a cute fun and at some points even difficult game. You go through these different levels collecting stickers and prizes and coins. The prizes you use to help customize your little person. While the stickers you use to decorate your home or to gain access to locked areas in the levels. Then you can also go online and play levels that other people have created. And you can create your own level. For the creative mind this is a great game. I highly recommend this game for multiple game type people.

 (I play on PS3 if you have a PS3 Network name and want to be friends hit me up on comments and I'll hit you up on the PS3)

A-Z challenge Letter K

K is for Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) in 2002 for the PlayStation 2 video game console. The first game in the Kingdom Hearts series, it is the result of a collaboration between Square Enix and The Walt Disney Company. The game combines characters and settings from Disney animated features with those from Square's Final Fantasy series. The story follows a young boy, Sora, as he is thrown into an epic battle against the forces of darkness. He is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, and other classic Disney characters who help him on his quest.

The game was a departure from Square's standard role-playing games, introducing a substantial action-adventure element to the gameplay. Kingdom Hearts has an all-star voice cast and includes many of the Disney characters' official voice actors. It was longtime Square character designer Tetsuya Nomura's first time in a directorial position.

Kingdom Hearts was praised for its unusual combination of action and role-playing, as well as its unexpectedly harmonious mix of Square and Disney elements. It was a dominating presence in the 2002 holiday season, receiving numerous year-end "Best" video game awards, and went on to achieve Sony "Greatest Hits" status. Since its release, Kingdom Hearts has sold over 5.6 million copies worldwide and has prompted numerous sequels. Kingdom Hearts is currently the ninth bestselling PlayStation 2 game of all time and the most commercially successful entry in the series to date.

To first explain to you what a dork I am, I tried this game out because it had Disney Characters in it. Yes, I love Disney. No I am not afraid to admit that. I also love pokemon, carebears, teenage mutant ninja turtles, pixiar, cartoons, and more. Back to the game, I don't remember what level I am on but I know its towards the start and I'm stuck. I can't find whatever I am suppose to find and it made me feel stupid so I quit but I keep telling myself I am going to play it again and I keep tieing myself up in other places. Anyway even though I am stuck I like the game. Or I like Disney to the point I enjoy running around in their worlds. The graphics are in my opinion great but I've been told by my husband before that I can't really tell differences in things like HD verses regular soooo I could be very wrong. The worlds are adorable. I remember running around Alice in Wonderland. It was so much fun and had so much from the movie in the game it was great.

J is for Jumping Flash 2!

Jumping Flash! 2 is a platform game released in 1996 for the PlayStation. It is the direct sequel to Jumping Flash!, which was released the previous year.

After Robbit foils Baron Aloha's plans to take over Crater Planet (events from the first game), Aloha flees for his life and return to his home planet, Little Muu.

While planning his revenge, however, Aloha's turn to face the fear of having his planet attacked comes. A gigantic alien invader known as Captain Kabuki (voiced by Lorelei King) descends upon Little Muu and starts taking it apart, piece by piece, just as Aloha himself had once tried to do to Crater Planet.

Aloha flees the onslaught in his space pod, and lands on an asteroid far away from Little Muu, where he swallows his pride and calls for help from his sworn enemy, Universal City Hall. Once again, Robbit is dispatched to help, and manages to free the parts of Little Muu which Kabuki has taken, and ultimately faces Kabuki one-on-one in mortal combat. Robbit emerges victorious, and Kabuki flees.

Aloha, however, is not finished. Still carrying a grudge against Robbit, he goes after Kabuki and convinces him to form a truce so that they can destroy Robbit together. In exchange, Aloha will pay Kabuki a large amount of money, and Kabuki, also desiring revenge against Robbit, agrees. Aloha and Kabuki attack Little Muu together, prompting Robbit to take action again. Eventually, Robbit and Kabuki battle each other one last time, and Robbit manages to destroy Kabuki once and for all while Aloha flees for his life once again.

Aloha returns to Little Muu, but is disowned by all the Muu Muus, who now resent him for teaming with Kabuki, who had tried to destroy them all, and trying to destroy Robbit, who had saved their lives. They throw him out of the bar and tell him to never come back.

A-Z Challenge Letter I

I is for IGridd

iGridd puzzles are picture logic puzzles also know as Griddlers, Nonograms, or Picross. The result of the solved puzzle is a nice image.

~~~Taken from IGridd website~~~
Okay,  I play IGridd on my Iphone and on the Ipad. Yes I still have the first Ipad because it works and it was a large sum of money to dish out when it first came out. Anyway the game consist of you making these little blocks make a picture by the clues to the left and upper areas that inform you of how many blocks of that color are in each row. Sounds a lot easier then it is. Yes the first few levels are easy but then you get bigger puzzles with harder pictures making the clues harder to figure out. I could and have spent hours at night before playing this. Its crazy to start playing at 11 and finally deciding its time to go to sleep at 4 am. Also its a free download.
A-Z Challenge Letter H
H is for Harvest Moon Magical Melody
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is a social simulation video game for the Nintendo GameCube developed by Marvelous Interactive. It is an updated version of Bokujō Monogatari: Shiawase no Uta, which was only released in Japan. The updated GameCube version was released in the United States by Natsume on March 28, 2006. For its European release by Rising Star Games, it was developed for the Wii console and released on March 14, 2008. The Wii version added motion-sensitive controls for actions such as fishing, mining and foraging but removed the option to play as a female character.
Among a vast variety of possible personal goals to be accomplished in Magical Melody, there are two primary objectives.
Firstly, players are enlisted by the Harvest elves to awaken the Harvest Goddess, who has turned herself to stone out of melancholy at the townspeople's disregard. To do this, players must gather musical notes by achieving various chores and milestones. Collecting at least fifty out of a total of one hundred notes allows the player to create the titular magical melody that will revive the village's protectress.
Secondly, the player is able to woo and eventually marry one of the townspeople. Players have the option of either a male or female character in the GameCube version. Each gender has a choice of ten potential spouses of the opposite sex, along with the androgynous rival Jamie who is eligible for either player gender.
The game also includes several minigames in which up to four players can test their skills.
I really really love this game. Of course I've played through 1/2 of it about 20 times lol. That is right I never have made it the whole 100%. I should get on my game cube and do that. There are special notes you have to get and special things you have to do to get these notes. Also some of these notes can only be gotten at special times in the year. If you enjoy games where your goal is to get achievements then you'll enjoy this game.
