Anthology Submissions

Whether your short story is about dragons or merely holds dragons as an underlying theme, feel free to submit them for publication in our first ever anthology.
Why not try something a little different... Ever wonder how a dragon might be powered by the steam its flames create? Maybe that airplane flying overhead is a dragon to a small child. Be creative and let your passion for the written word run wild.

Guidelines:
1) Dragons must play some role in the tale
2) Must be a minimum of 5k words, max of 10k

Patience Kills!

The wait to get the 'proof book' so I can approve my poetry book to be put into distribution won't be here until next weekend. THE WAIT IS MURDEROUS! This will be the first time I see my name in print and I am so nervous and excited and really really really want to already have it. I am so jittery I have no clue how I am going to make the time fly by. Growing up I was always told I should make a book and as I work on my novels I decided that yes I should make a book. So here it is. Poetry. Over 12 years of poems in one book.

Have you ever had something you had to wait to get and thought you may die before it got there? How did you make time go by? Was it as amazing as you thought it would be?

100 books in 52 weeks.

100 books in 52 weeks? That is roughly around 2 books per week. And even less for me for starting out late. I don't know for a fact this will happen however I have taken on multiple other challenges that will help me get some of these books out of the way. Perk? I have already read 1 book this year so it counts. YAY!!! only 99 more to go!

Bring on the Mystery Challenge of 2012

What could be better then a hot bubble bath and good relaxing mystery book? Brings back those lovely childhood memories of clue, 'Was it Mrs White in the kitchen with the rope?' My mother loves mystery books to the point of no end. And from this I too have picked up the enjoyment of a puzzling mystery.

Zombie Challenge 2012

Let me start with the fact I am not a huge Zombie movie fan. Never could get into them. However that is what makes this challenge more interesting to me. Maybe if I read more about zombie stories or knew more then I would be able to get into the movies I see more? Who knows. Not being a fan I probably will strive for the 6 books in a year but who knows maybe someone has a super awesome book series about zombies that makes me unable to stop till my brain explodes with zombies!

New Author Challege 2012

What a great way to find out about the new authors coming into the wonderful world of books then with a new author challenge? This is a super way to go out and learn about those we don't already know about. Loving these challenges.

Here are the guidelines:
  1. The challenge will run from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.
  2. Since this is an author challenge, there is no restriction on choosing your novels. They can definitely be from other challenges. However, the authors must be new to you and, preferably from novels.  Anthologies are a great way to try someone new, but only a third of your new authors can be from anthologies.
  3. I want this to be an easy challenge, so you can pick to do either 15, 25 or 50 new authors.  It all depends on how fast you read and how adventurous you want to be.  For me, I want to say I’m going to do another 50 new authors, but with two kids, I didn’t made my goal in 2011, so I’m going to be smarter and say 25.  If you reach your goal halfway through the year, don’t stop.  Any new author you try can be added to Mr. Linky.  We all want to know about your new experience.
  4. After reading your new author, write your review and then come back here and add your link to Mr. Linky.  Make sure you include your name and the author, but adding the title is completely up to you.
  5. Bloggers or Non-Bloggers alike are welcome. You don’t have to have a site to participate. You can link up via Facebook, GoodReads or even Amazon if you’d like.
