Blog Tour Host Post: Bridge of Deaths

M.C.V. Egan is the pen name chosen by Maria Catalina Egan the author of The Bridge of Deaths. Catalina was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1959, one of eight children. From a very young age she became obsessed with the story of her maternal Grandfather, Cesar Agustin Castillo, mostly the story of how he died. She only spent her childhood in Mexico. Her father became an employee of The World Bank in Washington D.C.

From the early 1970s at the age of 12 she moved with her entire family to the United States. She was already fluent in Southern English as she had spent one school year in the town of Pineville, Louisiana with her grandparents. There she won the English award; ironically being the only one who had English as a second language in her class. In the D.C. suburbs she attended various private Catholic schools and graduated from Winston Churchill HS in Potomac, Maryland in 1977. She attended Montgomery Community College, where she changed majors every semester. She also studied in Lyons, France at the Catholic University for two years. In 1981, due to an impulsive young marriage to a Viking ( The Swedish kind, not the football player kind)  Catalina moved to Sweden where she resided for five years and taught at a language school for Swedish, Danish, and Finnish businesspeople. She returned to the USA where she has been living ever since. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Swedish.

Mrs. Egan has worked for various companies and holds an Insurance license for the State of Florida. Not her favorite field but involves very nice folks and makes money!

Maria Catalina Egan is married and has one son, who together with their five pound Chihuahua makes her feel like a fulltime mother.   Although she would not call herself an Astrologer she has taken many classes and taught a few beginner classes in Astrology. This is one of her many past times when she is not writing or researching.

She celebrated her 52nd birthday on July 2nd 2011 and gave herself self-publishing The Bridge of Deaths as a gift; she never submitted it to anyone prior to this decision and has enjoyed the very positive feedback.

What happens in the moments leading up to disaster? "The Bridge of Deaths" follows the story of a true life event of a plane crash shortly before World War II of an international meeting of many individuals. Compiling a work of intrigue based on those who lost their lives and what they may have been seeking.

Join Bill and Maggie in 2010 London as through their love and curiosity they unravel the secrets from known and little known events in the 1930s. Journey to Denmark on August 15th 1939, at the brink of World War II where a British Airways LTD airplane crashed and sunk. Five deaths were reported: two Standard Oil of New Jersey employees, a German Corporate Lawyer, an English member of Parliament, and a crew member for the airline. The reader walks away with his/her ultimate conclusions.

~*~*~*~The Review~*~*~*~

Before I begin let me tell you...I am a history fanatic! I love to learn about history and could probably lose myself in hours in every history book you ever presented to me. That being said this book has a lot of history. The facts and details make a up a large portion of this book and yes in some areas people may tend to get more history then they bargained for.

At some points you do tend to lose the story among the abundance of facts and details but I am one of those that finds every fact and detail adds something somewhere. Either it will help you understand the reasons behind why or it will make you question why.

Either way I believe those who need a good look into the past or those that just want to read something to really open your eyes and your mind to the world would love this book. I highly recommend you give it a read.

Now is your chance to win yourself one of these three cool prizes!!!!
3 Lucky people will be walking away with a great prize. Will you win the ebook? Or the gift card? Or will you be the lucky one to get the signed copy of Bridge of Deaths!!!

  4. Oh my goodness am I ever intrigued! Why is such a diverse group of people on that plane? What are they planning? I can conjure up all kinds of theories! I love the WWII timeframe as there was so much espionage going on then. Delicious! Thanks for sharing that great synopsis today. I am really looking forward to reading "The Bridge of Deaths" to see what conclusion I draw from it.

    1. The Bridge of Deaths is strong documented fact with a twist of fiction.
As a cross genre it is hard to give the would be reader the precise understanding as to what to expect.
I hear the movie thing all the time...wouldn't that be cool?
      Thanks for your comment!

    1. WOW...sad and very brave of them...I mean if they know...This particular bridge has been surrounded by a lot of death since it was built in 1937.
There is a chance it will be torn down and replaced. Not of course that the bridge is to blame for it's history....
